His brothers Mark and Declan also played hurling and football for their county while James Young is a current Laois senior hurling star renowned for his high scoring ability. Darren Rooney is one of the club's most famous players, representing Laois at senior hurling and football level.

The tournament consisted of 16 teams with the winner going on to represent Laois in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship had a back-door format for the first two rounds before proceeding to a knock-out format. The 2018 Laois Senior Football Championship was the 128th edition of the Laois GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Laois, Ireland. Joe Mills equalised for Wicklow, But Colin Dunne put Laois ahead with 2 points(1f). Laois had the strong wind advange in the first half, but it was Wicklow had the first scoring chance when their goal attempt was deflected for a 45.

The club grounds are at Cappinrush, beside Ballyfin's Roman Catholic church. The current Laois senior hurling players Sean Lowry, John Joe McHugh and Dermot McGill are members of the club as is Oliver Phelan who managed Laois to their 1996 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship.

Total amount raised was 1,360.

The club formerly amalgamated with the Clonaslee-St. Seamus Dooley and Declan Conroy are two of the club's most famous players, representing Laois at senior hurling level. Manmans club to play senior hurling under the name Tinnahinch. Rosenallis Gaelic Athletic Association club is a hurling and gaelic football club in the village of Rosenallis in County Laois, Ireland. They also came very close to winning both intermediate titles in one year (1967), winning the hurling and losing the football to Arles in a replay.
